Facebook creates an ‘App Center’ for smartphones

Today Facebook announced the introduction of the  ‘App Center’, creating it’s own version of the App Store (for iOS), Google Play Store (for Android) and the lesser known Amazon app store (also for Android).

The ‘App Center’ is designed to grow mobile apps that use Facebook. So you will be able to see the most downloaded apps and if you decide to download, you will be redirected to either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store depending on your device.

This will add another level of growth for developers as Facebook grab at all things internet. For an app to be available in the App Center, the app will need to have the ability to log in via Facebook Connect.
